The New Canouan Police Station was constructed on 1028 square meters/ 11065 square feet of land, which housed the previous Station.
The building was designed by CCA limited to reflect the motives of the Canouan beautification program. The new Station is fully enclosed by fencing with two vehicle gate entrances, a main double door walk in entrance and a disabled ramp entrance, there are provisions for an emergency vehicle parking, two lots for visitor parking, and two covered parking lots within the compound.
The building comprises two levels and has a total floor area of 620 square meters / 6680 square feet, along with a 40,000 US gallon water storage cistern on a sub level.

A land reclamation project and runway extension was completed at the end of March 2008. The overall runway length increased from 3,455 to 5,875 ft. This extension of the runway makes the airport accessible by a larger number of aircraft. The Canouan Airport boasts the longest runway in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
In addition to the runway extension, the arrivals terminal was also extended to accommodate the increasing aviation services and visitors to the island.

This project is scheduled in two phases. The first phase which completed in May 2009 included asphalt re-surfacing of the runway, taxi-way and apron, (an area of almost 250,000 sq feet), pavement markings and minor landscaping of the area.
The second phase which is currently on-going will entail the placement of rock armoring towards the western end of the landing strip, in order to improve the protection of the newly renovated infrastructure.

The Canouan Administrative Building

The proposed design for the Canouan Administrative Building reflects the motives of the Canouan Beautification Program
The Building will house the magistrate’s court, Post Office, Immigration Office, Customs Office, and several other Government Departments including the Revenue and Health Offices. The Tourism Bureau will be centrally located on the ground floor.
Four small apartments for Government employees are located on the first floor.
The Canouan Administrative Building will be a landmark in the Canouan business district.

This green public space provided facilities for both motorists and bus passengers commuting to and from the Raffles Resort as well as ample space for the residents of Charles Bay. The arrangement provides adequate parking and turning space thus reducing the congestion faced by buses and other motorists at the entrance to the resort.
The facilities provided include a bus terminal for up to five buses at a time and a covered waiting area. The refreshment area consists of benches, six covered food stands and parking for fifty-seven vehicles for visitors and employees of the resort, contractors working within CRD as well as residents of Charles Bay.
The landscaping is sensitive to the idea of maintaining a high environmental value for the whole area covering approximately 2.2 acres

This project would combine sports and leisure for the Canouan community.
The facility will include a hard-court which will interchange between basketball, tennis, cultural events, volleyball and a playing field for football, tennis and cricket. Along the perimeter of this field, there will also be a jogging path and a seating area.
The landscaping will be sensitive to the environment in this area which covers approximately 2.5 acres. Drainage will be directed into a pond and can be used for irrigation of the facility during the dry season.
The Marine Learning Resource Centre

The Canouan Marine Learning Resource Centre is set quite appropriately in the heart of the Windward Conservation Park. This facility will be utilized to educate and provide general information on the importance of the preservation of the marine and coastal environments as well as the crucial link between the land and sea and all of the ecological structures in between.
Functioning as a lab, classroom and dive centre, and the facility promises to be the principle institution for marine education and conservation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
